West Hill Primary School

Music Tuition

Instrumental Music Tuition is available at West Hill Primary School through the County Music Service, Entrust (formerly Staffordshire Performing Arts) and, during the full academic year, pupils will receive 36 lessons. We invite your son or daughter to have lessons from highly trained peripatetic music teachers and would like to outline the expectations and commitment that these lessons involve. To enable us to plan next year’s tuition, we would ask you to return your completed slip requesting tuition as soon as possible and preferably by no later than Monday 16th July 2018. Lessons are open to children in years 3 through to 6, at all levels, including beginners.

Music lessons are an excellent way for children to develop their skills and understanding of music, as well as giving them the potential for a lifelong passion and opportunity for social development. The instruments available are: violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet, P-bone, guitar, keyboards and drums. Please note that the availability for some instruments is limited due to demand.

The charge for lessons is just £82.50 per year for all instruments. The level of fees is set by the school Governors and is well below the full cost to the school or the cost of similar tuition privately. The school heavily subsidises the cost of lessons as we believe them to be extremely important and to encourage as many children as possible to take up this opportunity.
