Pre-School Start Spring Term 1! News Round Up!

The team in Pre-School would love to see what your children are doing at home, whether that is going to the park, learning a new skill, helping you cook, colouring or reading a story. You can add photos and videos onto your child's Tapestry Journal. We can't wait to see what you have been doing!

Pre-School have had a busy start to the new term! Please see the photograph galleries below to see how they are progressing this term:

12.1.22:

Outside this week the children in Pre-School have been using their writing skills to mark make on our fairy writing frames. They have drawn fairies, princesses, knights and some have made castles with a moat! You are all making such good progress, well done! On the blackboard the children in Pre-School have used the chalk to create different marks to represent the shapes they know, we have circles, squares and rectangles. Someone came and planted 2 enormous turnips in our oil tray, the children have had so much fun trying to pull them out like the farmer in the story. The cones have got our numbers on them, but someone has mixed them all up so the children have been trying to put them in the right order again. Our working wall has some ribbon attached to it so children in Pre-School have been using their fine motor skills to thread the ribbon through the wholes to try and make a pattern. The giant has made its way into our tuff tray, some children think he is from the ‘Jack and the Beanstalk,’ while others thing he is from the ‘BFG.’  Well done for all of your hard work this week.

Outside this week...(12.1.22)

12.1.22 continued:

This week in Pre-School the children have been trying to recognise their names for self registration. The children have been using their symbols and saying the first letter of their name to figure out which name could be theirs. In Pre-School we are getting really good at singing our days of the week, months of the year and our weather song.

If you ask your children to sing this at home, you could learn it with them.
