West Hill Primary School

Years 4 & 5 See Oliver at Kingsmead!

On Monday 14th March, years 4 and 5 were invited to a production called ‘Oliver’ hosted by the fantastic secondary school, Kingsmead.   We had to walk there, for we couldn’t take a coach because there were too many of us and it was very near. Luckily, it was a beautiful day and we didn’t get soaked by the rain.

When we arrived there, we had to wait outside with St Peters while they got changed. We waited only a few minutes, the anticipation building. Finally, we were seated and the phenomenal show began.

It was a wonderful time and we loved it. The singing, acting just everything was amazing!  The songs were super catchy and we couldn’t stop singing on the way back.  We especially loved the songs; Oom pah pah, You’ve got to pick a pocket or two, Food glorious food and As long as he needs me.

We were there for 2 hours and had an interval where we could eat snacks and go to the toilet.

Then, the show began again and it was as though they hadn’t had a break.

Lots of us were heartbroken when Nancy was killed but we were healed when Bill was killed and Oliver went back to his original family.

We give a big thanks to everyone who participated from acting to even designing and painting the sets.  Nancy, Bill Sykes , Faygin, Oliver and many more were absolutely phenomenal and we hope they keep participating in many plays and shows

We give a huge thank you to all members of staff and pupils who helped put on the show and we hope to be invited again in the future. We hope to see you soon.
