Year 5 in Cannock and Hednesford Kwik Cricket Competition

The following is a report on the above event:

The West Hill Team went to Cannock Cricket Club on Tuesday 4th June to take part in an exciting competition with other schools (one of seven teams).   We played our first match against Chase Grammar School.  As it was our opening match we were a bit nervous, narrowly losing by 15 runs.

However or second match was played with greater confidence and improved bowling, batting and fielding.  We went on to win against St. Lukes Primary School convincingly! This then set us up for a third place play off against Littleton Green Primary School.  Despite batting  first, we scored a very credible score of 248 runs. The opposition started with a good opening pair of batsmen but West Hill bowlers held their nerve and went on to win the match and secure their third place!

Well done to all our cricket squad!
